7 THINGS YOU SHOULD STOP DOING IF YOU WANT TO SUCCEED IN LIFE - A practical guide to taking back control of your time, energy and money.
Discover 7 habits that may be holding you back without you even realizing it. A practical guide to help you use your time, energy, and money more wisely, take action, and start building the life you truly want.

YOUR TIME IS YOUR FIRST CAPITAL
We all have 24 hours in a day. Yet after five or ten years, two people who started from similar situations can have built completely different lives.
The difference does not come only from talent, income or luck. It also comes from what each person repeatedly does with their time, energy and money.
Success does not mean working day and night. You are allowed to watch a movie, travel, go out, love, pray, laugh and enjoy life.
But you need to learn the difference between what genuinely restores you and what constantly distracts you from your goals.
This guide is not asking you to eliminate pleasure. It invites you to identify habits that, when they become excessive, can cost you hundreds of hours, a great deal of energy and sometimes a great deal of money.
“Your time is capital. Every day, you decide where to invest it.”
RK INSIGHTS TIP
Do not try to change everything at once. First identify one habit that is costing you time or money, then work on it for 30 days.
PRINCIPLE 01: STOP WAITING FOR A NEW PRESIDENT TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE

Being informed, voting, understanding laws and taking part in public life are important choices. But spending your days complaining about the president, the government or the laws does not build anything for you.
Governments, majorities, laws and tax systems can change. If you make your success dependent on the ideal government, you may spend a large part of your life waiting.
The useful question is not only: “Do I agree with this system?” Also ask: “How does this system work, and how can I navigate it intelligently and legally?”
Study taxation. Understand businesses. Learn how credit works. Educate yourself about investing. Understand the rules that affect your activity. Know your rights and obligations. Seek qualified professional advice when necessary.
You can want a law to change and participate democratically in that change. At the same time, keep building your future within the rules that currently exist.
RK INSIGHTS TIP
Do not build your future on the hope that the next government will solve your problems. Stay informed, understand the rules, adapt legally and focus your energy on what you can actually control.
“Do not spend your life waiting for the system to change for you. Learn enough about the system to know how to move within it.”
PRINCIPLE 02: STOP GIVING HOURS OF YOUR LIFE TO TELEVISION

Watching a good movie or a series you enjoy is not a waste of time. Rest is part of a balanced life. The problem begins when you turn on the television without a real intention and the hours pass automatically.
Do the math: 2 hours a day × 365 days = 730 hours a year. That is more than 30 full days.
Imagine recovering only half of that time: 365 hours to learn a language, improve your professional skills, study real estate, understand financial markets, read or build a small business.
The right question is not: “Should I stop watching television?” but rather: “How many hours of my life am I willing to give it?”
RK INSIGHTS TIP
Choose what you want to watch and decide in advance how much time you want to spend on it. Turn television into a choice, not an automatic habit.
“Entertainment should have a place in your life. It should not take the place of your life.”
PRINCIPLE 03: STOP COMPARING YOUR LIFE TO OTHER PEOPLE’S SUCCESS — OR “FAKE LIFE”

Social media has become a huge shop window: cars, watches, restaurants, travel, villas, business class and luxury clothes.
But one essential piece of information is often missing: the financial reality behind the image. You see the car, but you do not know whether the person owns it. You see the house, but you do not know the debt behind it. You see the vacation, but you do not know how it was financed.
Sometimes you are seeing success. But sometimes, you are simply seeing marketing or a staged image.
The danger begins when you measure your own life against other people’s highlight reels and then spend your money trying to reproduce the appearance of success.
Example: two people each have €5,000. One spends almost all of it trying to look rich. The other keeps a reserve and uses part of the money to gain skills, develop a business or begin investing. On Instagram, the first may look richer. But appearance and net worth are two different things.
RK INSIGHTS TIP
Before making a major purchase mainly to impress, ask yourself: “Does this purchase increase my wealth, or only my appearance of wealth?”
“Do not spend your capital reproducing the lifestyle of someone whose financial situation you do not even know.”
PRINCIPLE 04: STOP BELIEVING THAT PRAYER CAN REPLACE ACTION

Faith can provide strength, hope, values, direction and courage. But faith should not become an excuse to remain still.
Take Africa as an example. In many African countries and communities, religion and prayer play an important role in everyday life.
This does not mean that religion causes poverty. Africa’s economic realities have complex historical, institutional, educational, economic and political causes.
But it reminds us of a simple idea: prayer does not replace knowledge, skills, work or strategy.
After praying: open a book. Learn a trade. Take a course. Improve your financial education. Send the application. Start the project. Find clients. Save. Invest when you understand the risks. Try, learn and try again.
For many of us Africans: imagine our faith accompanied by even more knowledge, education, entrepreneurship, financial discipline, investment, innovation and action.
RK INSIGHTS TIP
Do not ask only for prosperity. Ask also for the wisdom to recognize opportunities, the discipline to work, the courage to act and the strength to continue. Then work on your goal.
FAITH + VISION + KNOWLEDGE + PLAN + DISCIPLINE + ACTION
PRINCIPLE 05: STOP CHASING RELATIONSHIPS AT THE EXPENSE OF YOUR FUTURE

Love and relationships can add a great deal to life. The problem is not “women.” The problem is spending a disproportionate amount of time, energy and money trying to attract or impress people when you have not yet built your own foundations.
You have €500. You can spend it trying to impress someone over a few evenings. Or you can use part of it for training, equipment, a certification, an emergency reserve or your first small project.
This does not mean you should never invite someone to dinner or do something nice for your partner. It means: do not sacrifice your future to impress someone today.
Work on your character, health, skills, knowledge, discipline, finances and life plan.
A healthy relationship should be able to support your development rather than force you to pretend you have a financial situation you do not have.
RK INSIGHTS TIP
Do not try to buy attention with money you need to build your future. Build your value before trying to prove your value.
“A relationship should be able to accompany your progress, not replace your life plan.”
PRINCIPLE 06: STOP GIVING YOUR ENERGY TO PEOPLE WHO PULL YOU DOWN

Your environment influences the way you think. But someone who criticizes your project is not necessarily against you: relevant criticism can sometimes save you from a mistake.
The real question is: “Does my environment help me think and progress, or does it constantly encourage me to give up?”
Look for people who also talk about solutions, projects, knowledge, work, investment, opportunities, responsibility and progress. They do not need to be wealthy. They simply need to want to move forward.
RK INSIGHTS TIP
Do not look only for people who agree with you. Look for people who help you become better.
“Choose an environment that challenges your limits without destroying your ambitions.”
PRINCIPLE 07: STOP WAITING FOR THE PERFECT MOMENT

“When I have more money…” “When I have more time…” “When I am ready…” And the years pass.
The perfect moment rarely exists. Starting small, testing, making mistakes, learning and correcting gives you something that thinking alone cannot buy: real experience.
You do not need to know the entire path before taking the first step.
RK INSIGHTS TIP
You do not need to start big. You need to start intelligently. Test. Measure. Learn. Correct. Then repeat.
ACTION → MISTAKE → LEARNING → CORRECTION → PROGRESS
THE RK INSIGHTS 7-DAY CHALLENGE
For the next 7 days, honestly observe how you use your time. At the end of each day, classify your activities into three categories:
A — BUILDING: activities that improve your future: work, training, reading, exercise, investing, creating and professional development.
B — LIFE: activities that genuinely bring happiness and balance: family, partner, friends, rest, spirituality and intentional leisure.
C — DISTRACTION: activities that consume your time almost automatically: endless scrolling, automatic television, online arguments, social comparison and procrastination.
At the end of the 7 days:
1. Where is my time really going?
2. Which habit costs me the most without giving enough back?
3. What could I build if I recovered just 5 hours a week?
RK INSIGHTS TIP
Choose ONE habit to reduce over the next 30 days. Use the time you recover for one concrete, measurable goal.
YOUR FUTURE IS BEING BUILT NOW
You cannot control everything. But you can gradually improve what depends more directly on you: your knowledge, skills, habits, discipline, financial decisions, use of time and actions.
